The actor died on August 25, 2026, following years of health complications stemming from a paralyzing stroke he suffered more than a decade earlier.
His death certificate, obtained by People from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, offers a clearer picture of the health battles the veteran performer faced behind the scenes.

According to the outlet, the certificate lists coronary artery disease as the underlying cause of Curry's death. A history of stroke and kidney cancer were also noted as significant contributing conditions, though neither was determined to be the primary cause.
The document further states that no surgical procedures were performed to treat his coronary artery disease, kidney cancer, or history of stroke.

Curry passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 25, his manager confirmed in a statement to People on Wednesday, August 26.
The Los Angeles Police Department told the publication that officers had responded to a call for service and carried out a standard death investigation for a man in his 80s at a residence in North Hollywood. Curry died just before midnight, at 11:18 p.m.
The actor, who never married and had no children, suffered a major stroke in 2012 that left him partially paralyzed. He subsequently withdrew from public life and stepped back from acting, shifting his focus to voiceover work in his later years.
