'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' Actor Tim Curry Dies at 80 — Details

Tim Curry, who played Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the cult classic "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," died on August 25, 2026, according to reports from the following day. He was 80 years old.

TMZ was the first to break the news, and according to their sources, the actor passed in his house in Los Angeles in the late hours of Tuesday night. Authorities responded to the residence at 11:23 p.m. after an emergency call. There's no foul play involved in this case.

Born on April 19, 1946, in Grappenhall, Cheshire, England, Curry started working in Hollywood in the late 1960s, but it wasn't until "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" that his face became recognizable. He went on to reprise his role in several theater and Broadway productions.

Although the 1975 film was originally ignored by critics, it later gained notoriety as a midnight movie event. Fans might also remember him as Mr. Hector in "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York," and for other movies such as "Annie, "Addams Family Reunion," "Scary Movie 2," "Clue," and many more.
