Joe Jonas shared details of the terrifying boat accident he experienced in the summer while vacationing in Portofino, Italy.
In the September 22 episode of “The Morgan Stewart Show,” the Jonas Brothers singer, 37, said he was with his girlfriend Tatiana Gabriela, Morgan Stewart, and her husband Jordan McGraw when the accident happened while he was transferring from their yacht to a boat that was going to take them to a restaurant.

As Jonas stepped off the yacht, a wave suddenly pushed the smaller boat away, causing him to slip into the water. "It sounds like the bougiest problem, but it was terrifying because then I slipped and fell between these two boats," he told Stewart on the show. Even the first mate who was assisting him fell into the water too when he tried to grab Jonas’ arm.

Stewart was standing behind Jonas before he fell, and she recalled, “...the boat completely whiffed around, and I was like, it's going to... it's going to hit him in the head, and we're going to lose a Jonas brother."
Jonas said his first thought was to move away from the two boats rather than swim to the yacht’s ladder, fearing the boats’ engines. He tried climbing up but failed the first time. “I must have hit my shin or something,” he recalled, before falling back into the water. He succeeded on the second try by rolling himself into the boat.

Stewart revealed that Jonas’ leg was “totally blue and swollen,” something Jonas didn't realize until hours later. He could barely walk on it the following day.

According to Jonas, it didn’t help that the crew member who'd helped him blamed him for the accident. "Afterward, he's like, 'I told you not to go, blah blah blah.' He was going off on me," he said, describing the reaction as "annoying."
It would hit Jonas later how frightening the ordeal was. "I finally came down from the anxiety, and I looked at Tati, and I was like, 'That [expletive] was really scary,'" he said. "It was really intense."

He said his initial instinct was to call his daughters, Willa, 6, and Delphine, 4, whom he shares with ex-wife Sophie Turner. "I need to see them. I need to see their faces," he said. "It could have been any of us. It could have been really bad. It was the best outcome of a bad situation."

If there’s one thing the incident taught him, it’s to slow down. "Life moves so fast, and it's so easy that something really bad can happen if you're not... aware," he said.
The upside, according to the singer, was the great meal at the restaurant after the incident. He described it as the best of the trip. He said he would happily dine there again, joking, "I'll swim to the restaurant if I get the chance,” but adding, “I'm never going back in their tenders again."

Jonas and his brothers have just revived their 2008 tour, “The Burning Up Tour,” after quickly selling out their recently concluded three-night show at Madison Square Garden. Dubbed "The Burning Up Tour All Over Again," the full-blown tour is in response to the unexpected reception of their MSG show, prompting the brothers to write on Instagram, "Three sold out nights at the garden. No words to describe this feeling."
The tour, which kicks off in Boston on September 25, promises the full “Burning Up” setlist, an intermission, and new music from the Jonas Brothers’ upcoming album.
